Bio
Jacqueline Portnell is an interdisciplinary artist on a quest to directly turn the audience into their artwork. In exploring the interaction between sound art and video art, they create an uncanny environment for the viewers to explore and understand. Their multimedia applications of vocal synthesis, photogrammetry, and acousmatique recordings combine into a new world that allows the viewer to recontextualize their relationship to the piece, and thus to the world at large. It is only in an uncomfortable space where one can learn something new.

Jacqueline Portnell est une artiste interdisciplinaire dans une quête de transformer le public en son œuvre. En explorant l’interaction entre du son et de l’image, elle fabrique un environnement déconcertant pour que les spectateurs puissent y explorer et comprendre. Son application multimédia de la synthèse vocale, de la photogrammétrie, et des enregistrements acousmatiques se mêlent ensemble et créent un nouveau monde dans lequel le spectateur mettra leur relation avec l’œuvre dans un nouveau contexte, et donc y emporte une nouvelle compréhension du monde entier. Ce n’est que dans un lieu troublant qu’on est capable d’apprendre quelque chose substantif.
